Partners, investors and the capital in each site

Most construction projects are funded by more than one pocket: the owners, a few partners, an investor, a bank. When each one’s money is a line in a different diary, the meeting about it takes a week to prepare.

In short

Track project capital by registering each partner and investor once, recording per site what each committed and their share, logging every receipt with date and method, and keeping a partner’s investments, personal withdrawals and expenses paid as separate kinds of entry, so each person’s statement is ready before they ask.

A partner asks a simple question at the end of a quarter: how much have I put into the Vesu project, and where does my share stand? The honest answer involves two diaries, a bank statement and a WhatsApp chat, and it arrives with the words "roughly" and "I will confirm".

The money is not missing. It is simply recorded in pieces, by different people, without one place where each person’s contributions add up.

Register each person once

When a partner’s name is typed freshly on every entry, "Rameshbhai", "Ramesh Patel" and "R. Patel" become three people, and none of their totals is right. Keep one register of partners and investors, each with a phone number and, for a partner, their profit share. Every entry then points at the person rather than at a spelling.

Committed is not received

For each site, record who is funding it and how much each has committed, then record each amount as it actually arrives, with the date and how it came: cash, bank, UPI or cheque. The gap between committed and received is the capital you are still waiting for, and it belongs on the same screen as the site’s spending.

  • Own funds put in by the owners.
  • Partners, with their share of profit.
  • Investors, who fund the site without working on it.
  • A bank loan.
  • Anything else, named for what it is.

Three kinds of partner entry

Partners do not only put money in. They also take money out for personal use, and they pay site expenses from their own pocket and expect it counted. These are three different things and they should be recorded as such: an investment in, a personal withdrawal out, and an expense paid on the firm’s behalf. Mixed together, a partner’s balance is impossible to explain.

A statement for each person

With every entry tied to a registered person and a site, each partner’s statement is a filter, not a project: what they committed, what they paid in, what they took out, what they paid for, site by site, with dates. It can be exported and sent before anyone asks.

Partnerships rarely fall out over money. They fall out over not knowing where the money is.

Sitegride keeps partners and investors in one register, records each site’s funding as committed and received, logs investments, personal withdrawals and expenses separately, and gives every partner a statement of their own.

Questions this answers

Register each partner once, record per site what they committed and their share, and log each amount received with its date and method. Keep investments, personal withdrawals and expenses paid as separate entries, so each partner’s statement adds up without reconciling diaries.

In most construction firms a partner shares in the profit and often works in the business, while an investor provides funds without running the work. Recording which is which, and a partner’s profit share, keeps each person’s statement meaningful.

Yes. When every entry is tied to a registered partner and a site, a partner’s statement is simply their commitments, payments in, withdrawals and expenses paid, site by site with dates, ready to export and share.

What the fifteen minutes covers

  1. Your sites, not a sample

We set two of your own projects up with figures like yours before the call starts.

  2. One ordinary week, entered

A delivery, a day's hazri, a booking payment, recorded the way your team would record them.

  3. The position, live

Total in, total out and net across both sites, computed from what we just entered.
